‘The Day of the Triffids’ to Get a Remake?
For better or worse, Hollywood’s trend of remaking classic science fiction is continuing apace. We’ve had Planet of the Apes (2001 and 2011), The War of the Worlds (2005), King Kong (2005), I Am Legend (2007), The Invasion (2007), The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008), and the upcoming John Carter (2012). Now writer Neil Cross (BBC's Luthor) has been commissioned to write a screenplay--one of many steps in the lengthy process of making a movie--for another classic: Day of the Triffids.
