The Kickstarer project for GaymerCon, a convention for gamers who are LGBTQ, has been receiving a lot of love from fans who want to see this project get off the ground and into a hotel. In fact, GaymerCon has exceeded its initial goal of $25,000 and at the time of this writing, is at $75,000.
But it’s not just the fans who want GaymerCon to become the highlight of their convention year. The folks at Xbox Live have thrown in their support for this nascent games con with a supportive video. In it, employees give their reasons why they’re looking forward to attending GaymerCon.
(Xbox wasn’t always this encouraging to the LGBTQ community. Three years ago, a woman was banned from Xbox Live for identifying herself as a lesbian. They apologized later.)
People who want to contribute to the GaymerCon Kickstarter have until tomorrow, August 31, to pull out their wallets.
GaymerCon will need all the support it can get: The Westboro Baptist Church may be out picketing.
