Science fiction films contain aliens and space battles, time-travelers, and often enough violence to sate the cravings of an 11-year-old boy. But many people overlook what we science fiction fans have known all along: SF/F can be deeply romantic.
I’ve found a few movies that appeal to both the action lover and the romantic, no matter what your gender. For those who mistakenly think that SF/F films have no heart, these movies might open your eyes.
Note: Because of these parameters, I’m leaving off the more thoughtful yet still fantastical films Portrait of Jenny, Somewhere in Time, and Made in Heaven, as well as the cheesy but fun Legend and Ladyhawke. But they’re still recommended.
