Siri hates you if you’re Scottish. That’s one possible explanation as to why the iPhone 4S digital assistant can’t understand a word the Scots are saying, as you can see in this hilarious video, below. (Warning: foul language.)
Of course, another explanation is that the Scottish accent, with its complex phonology and dialect, is difficult to understand. Honestly, how many Americans know what a chip butty is? (Warning: high carbs.)
Then again, Apple has known about this problem since Siri’s launch, and still, the Scots remain disenfranchised from one of the more revolutionary services of the 21st century. (Warning: potential Scottish uprising.)
