Plenty of kids dream of creating a Guinness World Record. Even more kids dream of being Batman. Julian Checkley of Galway, Ireland, got to do both. And he did it in one of the more awesome ways possible.

Checkley had his name entered in the Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition for creating cosplay with the most functional gadgets, by crafting a batsuit that’s chock full o’ bat-gadgetry. In all, his suit contains twenty-three unique items. His inspiration? The 2013 videogame, Batman: Arkham Origins.

YouTube has a closer look at the suit and some of the marvels therein, above. A video screen. A grapnel gun. A stun gun. A freakin’ “concealed laryngeal microphone.” The list isn’t just impressive: It’s super impressive.

According to Guinness, “The suit, which is based on that from the Batman: Arkham Origins videogame was 3D printed and then moulded and cast in a flexible urethane rubber. The parts were then trimmed, detailed and painted and then mounted on an specially designed undersuit. It was then applied to Julian Chekley’s bodycast, suitably weathered using dirty earthy colors and was then ready to fight crime on the streets of Gotham City.”

Checkley has been creating his own cosplay wonders since he was 7 years old, when he created a papier-mâché mask for a Darth Vader costume. Later in life, his parlayed his passion into a career in film as a model-maker and art director. He also worked on creature effects.

Checkley may not have the ability to fight crime, but with his multi-functional Batsuit, he can at least dress the part.
